Fie Studio is the studio of Fangzi Luo, a painter based in New Jersey.
Fangzi works with Chinese lacquer, acrylic, ink, and sand on canvas, wood, and rice paper. She lets the material move first, then answers it with a deliberate line. She calls this approach "hard softness": strength that stays open to change.
Every temporary tattoo here comes from one of her original paintings, the Order & Disorder series and Infinity. It is a way to wear the work for a few days, on your skin instead of a wall.
